What we did
- Conducted a Selective Parking Study for BCP FuturePlaces, an urban regeneration company owned by Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP) Council.
- Conducted extensive data collection and analysis of approximately 50 car parks and on-street areas.
- Established a baseline understanding of current parking behaviour.
- Benchmarked existing parking facilities and tariffs.
- Analysed current and future parking usage and capacity requirements in town centre locations in line with future parking and mobility trends, to inform a strategic rationalisation of underutilised parking spaces and suggest additional capacity if needed.
- Guided future development plans while considering the region’s regeneration and growth goals.
Outcome
- Identified parking sites to retain, surplus sites, and those suitable for redevelopment to guide a strategic rationalisation of underutilised parking spaces
- Identified sites for potential additional capacity to meet future demand.
- Provided guidance for future development plans aligned with the region’s regeneration and growth goals.
- Enabled BCP FuturePlaces to make informed decisions regarding parking management and urban development.
